Recruiting

The only way Mike Norvell could get out of this rut is to recruit his way out. He couldn’t do that after going 23-4(he was on his way until the 2024 season happened). However, the last two seasons have made FSU a laughing stock in recruiting circles.

Opposing teams routinely negatively recruit FSU with ease. Mike Norvell losing a top recruit towards the Early Signing Period or on that day happens like clockwork.

The inability of an offensive-minded coach to get quarterback recruiting right is insane. We’ll admit the quarterback room was a mess he inherited. Jordan Travis fell into their lap and nearly didn’t turn into the player he ultimately became.

However, if you thought it was gonna be tough for Mike Norvell to recruit after 2-10, imagine what it’ll look like after going 6-6 at best in 2025? Do you think good players will want to come to FSU knowing Mike Norvell is already on the hot seat in 2026?

Do you think good players will want to come to FSU after watching it look like a dumpster fire the past two seasons and four of the last six? Absolutely not.

The crazy part is talent isn't the problem, although Mike Norvell hasn't recruited at an elite level. FSU still has more talent and spend more than teams they are losing to on a consistent basis. It's pathetic, and falls on the coaching staff when players fail at situational football. That's the essence of a good coaching staff.
