Former FSU QB failed to take advantage of opportunity with new program this spring

Brock Glenn was expected to compete for the starting quarterback spot at Western Kentucky, instead he didn't dress out for the spring game

While Luke Kromenhoek appears to be heavily in the mix to become the starting quarterback at USF, things aren't going as well for his former teammate Brock Glenn.

Glenn, one of the more popular Seminoles during his time at FSU, transferred to Western Kentucky after the season in hopes of finding an opportunity to see the field. He was expected to push Rodney Tisdale Jr., who started eight games for the Hilltoppers last year and was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year. However, Glenn was scratched from the Western Kentucky spring game this past weekend and appears to be no closer to seeing the field than he was in Tallahassee.

Brock Glenn fails to stand out for WKU this spring

Glenn was part of FSU's 2023 recruiting class and grew in popularity during the end of that season by starting the ACC Championship Game against Louisville for an injured Tate Rodemaker. It wasn't a pretty performance by any stretch, but the Seminoles won 13-3 for their first conference football championship since 2014 and only one under Mike Norvell. Glenn would then get completely thrown to the wolves in the 2024 Orange Bowl  when Rodemaker decided to leave the program high and dry. Even though it was a depleted Seminoles roster, Glenn fought and had a couple of promising moments in an otherwise disastrous 63-3 loss to Georgia.

The writing was on the wall for Glenn after the 2025 season when it was clear that the coaches had decided to go with Kevin Sperry as the full-time backup and potential competitor for the starting job. Glenn opted to level down to G6 and hoped to make a splash at Western Kentucky, but so far that hasn't happened. However, there is still plenty of time before the season begins and, hopefully, whatever is ailing Glenn will be fixed by then so he can put his best foot forward. Glenn is still remembered fondly by FSU fans, and they are rooting for him to succeed.
