Florida State's baseball team was productive during the 2024 season, where it saw the Seminoles get to the College World Series and lose a heartbreaker to the Tennessee Volunteers.
It looks like deja vu as the Seminoles and Volunteers are championship contenders in 2025 as they get to the postseason in the coming months. Florida State head baseball coach Link Jarrett has this squad clicking as its lone loss on the season came from the arch-rival Florida Gators.
The 2024 campaign was magical. I honestly don't think that the Seminoles will ever have an offense that is as dynamic as that one. They were led by superstar hitters such as Cam Smith and James Tibbs III.
I already mentioned the eye-popping performances that Smith has had since being traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Houston Astros. I believe that the Cubs will regret trading him to the Astros down the road when it is all said and done. They cannot let that type of talent get away.
I feel like Smith was getting a lot of love from the site, so I believe that it is appropriate that Tibbs III gets the same level of respect. After all, Tibbs was also a first-round draft pick that was selected by the San Francisco Giants.
While he has not set the world on fire with his bat, the former Seminole superstar was sensational during his tenure at Florida State, where he batted a .363 average with 28 home runs and 95 runs batted in for the 2024 season.
He was a threat to leave the yard every time that he stepped to the plate.

I realize that it is just Spring Training, but the video above displays Tibbs III's ability to make contact with the baseball and put it in play. It was good to see him get the run batted in a hit that gave his team a run.
Hopefully, this springboards some much-needed confidence for Tibbs III as he continues his professional baseball career.
