Florida State's 2027 recruiting class is a work in progress, with the Seminoles having many official visitors coming to campus. The coaching staff is looking to have some positive momentum with high school recruiting after Miami and Florida have had success.

Quarterback commit Logan Flaherty is officially visiting this weekend, and most individuals know that signal-callers are the leaders of the class. This is because of how important their positions are.

Logan Flaherty isn't a four-star prospect, and the recruiting services have him listed as a three-star, probably because he hasn't camped much. One concern about Florida State's recruiting class is that they don't have any wide receiver prospects for him to build a connection with (they have a three-star tight end, Connor Winn).

Logan Flaherty will try to grab a talented pass catcher with three-star Majay Thompson

Florida State had a disappointing update earlier in the spring with four-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins from Thomasville, Georgia, announcing on social media that he will no longer be officially visiting the Seminoles.

This was disappointing because Watkins had Florida State as his top school at one point, and the fan base was frustrated with the development. However, individuals also freaked out during the last cycle when three-star defensive end Cam Brooks didn't officially visit Florida State and committed to California, and he ended up flipping and signing with the Seminoles.

The Watkins news shook up the Seminoles' target board, where four-star wide receiver Sean Green remains a focus this weekend. Green should be selecting between Florida State and Georgia. Then, the Seminoles also have four-star option Cam Wade, who viewed Florida State as his top school.

Assistant coach Tim Harris Jr. did grab six wide receiver prospects in last year's cycle, so the position isn't a huge priority, but the Seminoles would like to get two or three for the 2027 cycle. Logan Flaherty is on an official visit, but he is making it known to three-star Majay Thompson from Shelby, North Carolina.

Thompson has schools such as Florida State, Alabama, Georgia, and Wake Forest involved in his recruitment. The concerning aspect is that he is officially visiting the Crimson Tide this weekend before heading to Tallahassee for his final trip on the weekend of June 12th.

The hope is that the coaching staff can grab four-star Sean Green this weekend and can be selective in picking out their pass catchers.
