Florida State coaches have caught a lot of flack since the transfer portal opened, but they have made some solid moves to secure players at postions of need over the past few days.
The latest addition forced them to play the long game, and they still won, despite the sage with the Desir Twins and Kevin Wynn. FSU had Texas State defensive tackle Jordan Sanders visit campus earlier this week on January 10th.

FSU coaches have had a nice couple of days as the transfer portal prepares to close
He left without committing and visited some other schools. Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, and Wisconsin showed interest, but it was FSU in the end that got his commitment on Friday night: Â
Sander’s isn’t an elite prospect by any means, but stands at 6’4” and 305 pounds, according to Texas State’s website. He should serve as a solid depth piece on the defensive front, joining the Desir Twins, Kevin Wynn, Daniel Lyons, and Deante McCray.
Sanders isn’t the type of player who fills up the stats sheet with tons of tackles or tackles for a loss. However, he has above-average grades against the run and as a pass rusher at the level he played. Will that translate to the ACC and Power Four level? It’s hard to say, but I think he’ll be serviceable at worst and should help create gaps the linebackers can maneuver through to make plays with his length and ability to anchor.
We wrote about FSU achieving a dream scenario by retaining the Desir Twins and Kevin Wynn. FSU adding Jordan Sanders is a nice little addition before the transfer portal officially closes (some guys will enter and not appear until next week).
He has one year of eligibility remaining. Â
