Florida State needs to land these highly-touted prospects to get a top-ten class

Grabbing these prospects will be crucial to the Seminoles' success on the recruiting trail.

Head coach Mike Norvell and a top-ten recruiting class should never be two topics paired together, since he has not accomplished that feat since arriving in Tallahassee in December 2019. However, I am an optimistic individual who believes Coach Norvell could do it for the 2027 cycle.

Let me start by saying that Florida State needs to win on the football field. That is no easy task considering that the Seminoles have won seven games in two years, which is incredibly horrific for a program that expects to compete for championships every season.

With that said, Florida State has already landed five commitments in its 2027 recruiting class, which is listed as the 16th-best in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings. This is a bad start, but it could be way better with the help of a couple of recruits. Here are some prospects that could elevate the Seminoles' 2027 class to the next level.

Four-star DL Sam LeJeune

Florida State is attempting to grab one of its top prospects on its defensive line board in four-star Sam LeJeune. The one issue is that he is from Mississippi, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are going after him. Fans understand that top Mississippi prospects rarely leave the state, so the Seminoles will have to lock in on getting him, as he scheduled an official visit in Tallahassee for the weekend of June 12th.

Four-star DL Jabarrius Garror (Alabama commit)

I just mentioned the Seminoles going after a talented defensive lineman in Sam LeJeune. The expectation is that Florida State will load its 2027 class up with prospects in the defensive trenches, just like it did in last year's recruiting cycle. Four-star defensive lineman Jabarrius Garror from Mobile, Alabama, is someone that they are trying to snatch away from the Crimson Tide. If Florida State wants a top-ten class, they need to steal one away from a school like Alabama.

Four-star WR Jamarin Simmons

If Florida State is serious about getting a top-ten recruiting class, they need to keep its homegrown talent from going to other schools. Four-star wide receiver Jamarin Simmons has made it known that it is between Florida State and Clemson in his recruitment, with the Tigers getting a visit on May 29th and the Seminoles on June 5th. This will be a good indicator of how this recruiting class will transpire.
