Florida State football defeated Virginia Tech on Saturday night by a score of 34-14. The Seminoles have a combined home record of 5-2 during the season, where they left the fans something to be happy about.

This 2025 season has been an up-and-down roller coaster filled with emotions. It started with a season-opening win over Alabama at home, then the Seminoles later lost five of their six games.

Individuals across the country wondered if head football coach Mike Norvell would be fired, but the $54 million buyout became a topic of discussion after the Seminoles spent resources on the stadium renovations, football-only facility, new assistant coaches, and a roster filled with new players.

RECRUITING WIN

High school recruiting has been one of the bigger concerns. The Seminoles have been able to get transfers in the university, but high schoolers seem to flock to other schools more often than not.

With the struggles of last season and then the failures at the midway point of the 2025 campaign, fans wondered if recruits could start to see the writing on the wall. However, the Seminoles have battled through and remained a top-fifteen recruiting class in the 2026 cycle.

Florida State got some good news on Monday afternoon, as Class of 2026 four-star JUCO defensive end Jalen Anderson committed to the program.

This became something that could turn into a reality as he officially visited this weekend for the Virginia Tech game. On3's Steve Wiltfong had put in an expert prediction in favor of the Seminoles for Anderson also.

The talented pass rusher recorded 41 tackles (11.5 for loss), seven sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception during the 2025 season. This is the sixth defensive linemen that position coach Terrance Knighton has picked up for the Seminoles' 2026 recruiting class.

I like that Florida State is building the trenches for the future.
