Florida State's coaching staff has welcomed many prospects in the 2027 and 2028 cycles this past weekend. The Seminoles are preparing to have themselves an elite recruiting class in the near future.
The on-field product has not been where head football coach Mike Norvell and company want it to be. Fans and recruits want to see the sustainable success, but it has not transpired just yet.
The program is trying its best to put its best foot forward on the recruiting trail by solidifying high-quality talent. The Seminole faithful deserve to have championship-level success that can result in getting back to the "glory days".
Florida State is attempting to lure in four-star wide receiver Jamarin Simmons from Tallahassee
Florida State fans want the program to secure homegrown talent in Tallahassee, but it seems like they end up at other schools instead of with the Seminoles. One prospect that the coaching staff brought on campus this weekend was Class of 2027 four-star wide receiver Jamarin Simmons from Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida.
Simmons is considered the 64th-best prospect in 247Sports recruiting for the 2027 cycle, so it could be a pipeline dream for the Seminoles. Noles247's Zach Blostein placed a crystal ball prediction in favor of Clemson for Simmons two days ago, so it looks to be trending in that direction.
Luckily, Florida State looks to be trending in a nice direction for four-star Jabari Watkins, but the coaching staff doesn't need the Simmons situation turn into a situation where it is like Terrion Arnold from Tallahassee, Florida, and commits to Alabama and becomes an NFL player.
Head football coach Mike Norvell has to ensure that the homegrown targets stay home. Even though most kids want to leave the city, the Seminoles have to put their chips all-in for the talented pass catcher, who had 59 catches for 932 yards and 14 touchdowns during the 2025 season (according to MaxPreps).
