Florida State football wants to acquire more talent in its 2027 recruiting class. They are currently the 13th-best in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. This is not where the fan base wants them to be, but it is a solid start to securing a foundation for the program.

Head football coach Mike Norvell was retained for the 2026 season by the administration. This was a decision that was not well-received by the fan base, but the reality of the situation is that the Seminoles don't have the necessary finances at this point.

To be honest, that cannot hold Florida State back, as the Miami Hurricanes made it to the College Football Playoff and recruit at a high level under Mario Cristobal, and the Florida Gators have the "new car smell" with first-year coach Jon Sumrall.

Florida State set up an official visit with three-star safety commit Jemari Foreman

The Seminoles need to prioritize keeping their commits in the fold. They are battling with the Hurricanes to keep Mekhi Williams. He is one of those defensive backs who could be very dynamic at the collegiate level with his 6'2.5" frame.

However, Williams isn't the only defensive back that the Seminoles have in their class. They also have three-star defensive back Jemari Foreman from Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida. Foreman announced on social media that he will be taking an official visit to Florida State on June 12th.

The defensive back has been committed to Florida State since September 6th of last year. It is worrisome that Foreman pledged a week after the momentum of the Alabama season-opening victory. The shine wore off as the season went along for the Seminoles.

Florida State also has a new defensive backs coach on staff in cornerbacks coach Blue Adams, but the coach that will be working with him the most, Evan Cooper, is still with the Seminoles. The safety prospect will be visiting California, Oklahoma, Louisville, and Pittsburgh during the spring, but none of those teams strike fear into the fan base at this time.
