Florida State is emerging as a favorite for 4-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune

This would be a very good grab for the Seminoles' 2027 recruiting class.

Florida State's 2027 recruiting class is not special by any means right now, but they have had some success as of late, where they have picked up four-star running back Jayden Miles, four-star wide receiver Sean Green, four-star linebacker Jernard Albright, three-star quarterback Logan Flaherty, three-star linebacker Olrick Johnson III, and three-star defensive end Eric Vaulx Jr.

Plus, it should be mentioned that they are also leading for three-star running back Marquis Fennell and three-star defensive lineman Jason Lewis. Fans do this every year, where they worry about Florida State's recruiting class, and then by the end of the summer, everything pans out.

It isn't how the Seminoles started. It is how they finished. Florida State has never recorded a top-ten recruiting class during the tenure of head coach Mike Norvell. To make matters worse, he is firmly on the hot seat talk so most recruits will think twice before committing to the Garnet and Gold.

Florida State will always be a destination spot for many recruits, but it is difficult not to look at six losing seasons in eight years and not be nervous. The administration retained Coach Norvell for another year, but what happens if they don't get off to the best start?

The recruits who want to say yes to Florida State probably don't want to worry about the headache of bringing in another coaching staff because those individuals probably won't prioritize them as their first choice. That is the territory that the Seminoles are in right now, and it is difficult to navigate.

Florida State is now leading for the Class of 2027 four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune after an expert prediction

Florida State had a very good recruiting haul for last weekend's official visits. However, the Seminoles still rank below the top-50 in the 247Sports Composite. They need more bona fide studs in the recruiting class.

To be honest, I see too many fans calling Mike Norvell and Florida State "three-star U" and "transfer portal U". The negativity has gone off the charts with going 7-17 over the past two seasons. However, Coach Norvell is in control of his destiny.

This is his time to shine and ensure that they can have consistency within the program. It all starts with obtaining high-caliber high school talent. That is how you build your roster, especially in the trenches. Those players win championships.

One recruit who came in this weekend that I was intrigued by was four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune from Poplarville, Mississippi. He can play defensive end or tackle at the college level. The first-ever offer for LeJeune was from Florida State. The relationship with Mike Norvell is strong, as you can tell by his reaction when riding in the car with him during his official visit.

LeJeune had officially visited programs like Auburn, California, and Washington, but something seemed to be different about the enthusiasm level with the Seminoles.

That looked to be true, as Rivals' Insider Chad Simmons dropped an expert prediction in favor of Florida State for the four-star defensive lineman, who is still currently on his official visit with the Seminoles. This should be one to get Florida State fans excited about because he is the 125th-best prospect in the 2027 cycle according to an average of all the recruiting databases.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him commit immediately after his official visit and get started on putting his recruitment hat on for Florida State.
