The 2026 MLB Draft will take place in a few weeks, and like most years, Florida State has several players hoping to have their names called. The Noles tied a record with 11 players selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, and that departure of talent was felt during the 2026 season, especially on offense.
Florida State failed to reach the Super Regionals for the first time since 2023. Despite the disappointing season, Florida State will have several guys drafted to play professional baseball.
Some already know they’ll get drafted fairly early, but others have a chance to improve their draft stock in the 2026 MLB Combine that will take place next week. Florida State had seven players receive invites to the combine:
- John Abraham (not ranked in the top 200)
- Myles Bailey (ranked No. 88 overall)
- Trey Beard (ranked No. 126 overall)
- Brayden Dowd (ranked No. 176 overall)
- Wes Mendes (ranked No. 40 overall)
- Bryson Moore (not ranked in the top 200)
- Cole Stokes (not ranked in the top 200)
John Abraham could be drafted anywhere between the fourth and sixth rounds. He was one of the best closers in college baseball until an injury late in the season set him back, with some lackluster performances in the postseason. He could use the combine as a chance to impress scouts and boost his draft stock.
Florida State had less overall talent on the roster compared to a year ago
Myles Bailey could be drafted between the second and third rounds. He has crazy power, but strikes out a lot. I’d doubt he could perform at the combine after the injury that ended his 2026 season.
Trey Beard could be drafted anywhere between the fourth and sixth rounds. A consistent weekend starter for the Noles. He is what he is at this point, and I’d doubt he could improve his stock drastically.
Brayden Dowd could be drafted in the fourth and sixth rounds. He’s someone I’d like to see return to Florida State to improve on his production since he battled injuries most of the year.
Wes Mendes could be drafted late in the first round or early in the second round. Â
Bryson Moore could be drafted sometime after the fourth round. He’s someone who could probably boost his stock with a good performance at the combine. He has great stuff when healthy. He’s not considered a top 200 prospect at the moment.
Cole Stokes has an electric fastball but can’t throw strikes. A team will probably draft him on potential, but a strong combine performance could help him quite a bit.
Florida State has some other guys who could get drafted but were not invited to the combine. Players like Chris Knier, Kevin Mebil, Brodie Purcell, and Brody Delamielleure would be decent candidates. Florida State fans probably don’t realize all the players Link Jarrett will have to replace in 2027. He’s got some help coming from the JUCO ranks and added two strong additions from the transfer portal. However, there’s still a ton of work to do if they want to improve over the 2026 season and realistically compete for a national title. Â
