OT LUCAS SIMMONS

Florida State was able to land a talented five-star offensive tackle prospect in Lucas Simmons for the 2023 recruiting cycle. However, the Clearwater International standout dealt with injuries during his true freshman season that prevented his ability to play.

It stinks that the coaching staff lost a whole year of development for a player at a pivotal position such as offensive tackle. During the process of being hurt, players go through changes such as weight and lack of confidence.

It is important for Simmons to get on the right mindset as 2025 could be a huge leap for him if the offseason goes well. You cannot teach the 6'7" frame at tackle. I think this could be a situation where he might be ready until Year 3 or 4 of his career (which is totally understandable at that postion because it takes time).

I am not wanting to see Simmons against the likes of Miami or Notre Dame, but when the Seminoles play Charleston Southern in November, I hope that he can see the field just to get a taste of what it is like to play in a live game.
