No. 1 Traveling Across The Country To Play On The Road

FSU will technically be the fresher team, only playing three games in its regional, with Oregon State last playing on Monday night. However, the Beavers got to go home to their beds that night, and FSU had to make the nearly 3,000-mile trek west.

FSU traveled out to the West Coast to play the California Bears late in the season and won two of three. However, they didn't demolish them, and frankly, California isn't a good team. A team traveling across multiple time zones can absolutely affect performance. Oregon State will have its home field crowd of nearly 4,000 in attendance(it's not Dick Howser Stadium with over 6,000 fans). FSU has been solid on the road, going 12-6, but the travel is a concern.

Overall Thoughts

FSU is almost the betting favorite for a reason although they are traveling nearly 3,000 miles. I've said it all season, but these games boil down to who executes and makes the fewest mistakes.

If FSU can do that, they'll advance to their second College World Series in as many years.
