Five players that will make FSU football's defense a good product in 2025

These players could change the defense in 2025 for Florida State.

CB JEREMIAH WILSON

I know that Florida State football has a ton of young, talented defensive backs who are hungry and ready for an opportunity in 2025. While I want to see these individuals succeed in this defense, I know that Florida State needs to have gritty veterans guarding wide receivers Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, and Isaiah Horton from Alabama in the season opener.

One pickup that I was high on is former Houston cornerback Jeremiah Wilson, who was regarded as one of the best man-to-man defenders in the country for the 2024 season. Wilson was part of a Houston team that wasn't that good last season (yes... I know that Florida State only won two games last year).

Wilson's pickup could be a way that the younger pieces develop into quality starters later in the year and could allow them to focus on 2026. I can only imagine how the former Houston defender will develop under the guidance of Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper.

DBU continues in Tallahassee with transfer cornerback Jeremiah Wilson.
