LB ELIJAH HERRING

I don't want to make this into a criticism piece at the linebacker position because I am a huge fan of returning pieces such as Omar Graham Jr., Justin Cryer, and Blake Nichelson, but there is a reason that they added transfers like Elijah Herring, Stefon Thompson, and Caleb LaVallee.

I know that fans want to highlight Thompson since he has a ton of familiarity with defensive coordinator Tony White at Nebraska and Syracuse. However, I am a bigger fan of former Tennessee and Memphis linebacker Elijah Herring.

Herring reminds me of former Florida State linebacker Tatum Bethune, who was a tackling machine. He had over 140 tackles over the past two seasons. The coaching staff has raved about the veteran linebacker this offseason with his play.

I believe that he will be one of the defensive leaders for Florida State in 2025.
