Florida State football has not been what it has wanted to be, with having the struggles in six of the past eight years. However, head coach Mike Norvell is on a mission to get the Seminoles back on the right track.
Norvell is going to be responsible for the play-calling duties in 2026. This brings a challenge to come back to the role after former offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn unexpectedly retired this offseason.
The offense will be a major talking point this offseason by the fan base, as the quarterback battle of Kevin Sperry, Ashton Daniels, and maybe even Malachi Marshall will take place to set the foundation for how good the unit's ceiling will be.
Florida State's starting quarterback will have a ton of playmakers to throw the football to
Florida State had great news this offseason, as they brought back contributors at the wide receiver position such as Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Jayvan Boggs. Boggs was someone that Robinson raved about last offseason, and it never materialized into much.
The former four-star prospect Jayvan Boggs was a standout at Cocoa High School, who was awarded Mr. Florida and couldn't be stopped by opposing defensive backs. Boggs had a great spring, which led Robinson to say that the sky was the limit for him. Unfortunately, the wide receiver dealt with injury issues during his true freshman season, and didn't have any notable performances.
Some analysts are strictly talking about Duce Robinson and Jayvan Boggs as being players to watch for at wide receiver, but Micahi Danzy is a speedster from the Tallahassee, Florida area who was a mismatch-up nightmare.
Alabama Crimson Tide defenders found out the hard way versus the Seminoles in last year's meeting, where Danzy was getting past the defense easily with his speed. The track and football track had over 500 yards, and even though he has to work on the consistency with his hands, it was encouraging to see him take a developmental step with it being his first year as a receiver.
