Everything is falling into place for Mike Norvell to land top QB target

Movement on the QB recruiting market should give FSU a clear shot for a commitment from Wonderful Monds IV

Patience doesn't often pay off in recruiting, but sometimes the dominoes fall in place, and for FSU's search of a quarterback, this might be one of those times.

Mike Norvell is looking for an arm in the 2027 class, and he's been searching and recruiting and offering players both in-state and out-of-state with different skill sets. In an ideal world, Norvell would like to receive a commitment from one of the quarterback targets before May, but any point over the summer would work. There's been some movement with the FSU quarterback targets over the past week and more expected movement in the next 48 hours should leave the Seminoles with their guy.

All roads could lead to Wonderful Monds IV committing to the Seminoles

While I wouldn't necessarily call Wonderful Monds' potential pledge to FSU a result of a perfect storm, it's the product of a lot of related results. The first step was four-star quarterback Israel Abrams, another one of the Seminoles' top targets, making a commitment to Miami. What happens next is the expected commitment of in-state quarterback Davin Davidson to Florida on Thursday, which would eliminate the Gators as one of FSU's biggest competitors for Monds.

FSU also has out-of-state Jake Nawrot and Andre Adams in the picture, but Nawrot seems like a long shot and the Seminoles might not be as high on Adams as a couple of other programs. These developments give Norvell a clear path to the guy he's wanted all along.

Monds is the right guy at the right time for FSU

This is the best-case scenario for Norvell. Monds has the skill set that he's traditionally been successful in developing. He's a pass-first quarterback with good mobility. He was once considered the top quarterback in the 2028 class and now, in my opinion, he's a little underrated now that he's reclassified for the 2027 class.

Monds has talent. He has charisma, and he's a guy that's going to embrace the culture and try to convince other FSU targets to join him. He is exactly what Norvell and FSU football needs right now.
