Did we finally figure out why FSU defense fell off for a stretch after Kent St game?

This is hard to believe, but it jives.

Conflicting Information

This is that part that's confusing. We have repeatedly heard Bud Elliott and the 247 guys bash FSU high school recruiting, partly because the latter relies on that aspect as a revenue source.

We've heard Elliott say that Michael Alford wants to enforce the salary cap, and in the next breath, say FSU doesn't work hard on the recruiting trail and only tries to outbid other teams for commitments.

Isn't that a big-time contradiction? If Michael Alford isn't allowing the coaching staff to maximize the revenue share, how can they rely on that money to outbid other teams for players? Now, it makes sense that FSU hasn't cracked the top 10 in national recruiting rankings.

We all believe FSU needs to do better in high school recruiting, but it costs big money to land elite players, plain and simple. FSU will continue to fail to land top talent if Michael Alford maintains this stance.
