DC Tony White can have a similar emergence at FSU, just like former DC Mark Stoops

We need the killer mentality on FSU's defense for the 2025 season.

PRESSURE ON THE QUARTERBACK

I blame last season's failure on the Seminoles' defensive line because of legendary head football coach Nick Saban. Coach Saban stated in the offseason that Florida State would have one of the best defensive line units in the country.

News flash... it was not one of the best units. The Seminoles were only able to muster 27 sacks in twelve games. While that sounds like a decent amount from the naked eye, they had seven sacks in one of their only two wins of the season when playing Cal.

I won't lie, I thought the dynamic duo of Patrick Payton and Marvin Jones Jr. was going to be solid. However, I am eating my words like crow, and the defensive line has some work to do before anyone will trust them.

Coach White's defense at Nebraska had 30 sacks in 2024, but he should have a better supporting cast in Tallahassee than he had in Lincoln. He has already expressed this offseason that the defense wants to get after the quarterback. I am intrigued by pieces such as James Williams and Deante McCray, with what they bring to the table.
