Could FSU football be getting another talented prospect in the 2026 cycle soon?

This could be a great grab for the Seminoles soon.

FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Some Florida State football fans have been disgusted with the results on the gridiron, given the four-game losing streak before the victory against Wake Forest finally came on Saturday. Head football coach Mike Norvell has been on a burner lately with criticism.

However, it is important that the players on the roster seem to show a sense of support towards him. This isn't to say that Coach Norvell has been the ideal image over the standard over his tenure. With that said, he does care and tries to invest into the university.

High school recruiting looks to be one of his downfalls that he is trying to turn around in a heartbeat. It became apparent that he became in love with acquiring transfers in the open market (someone that Dabo Swinney hasn't been able to accomplish).

GOOD NEWS COMING?

Florida State will be taking on Clemson this weekend on the road in a must-win game for the Seminoles. Head football coach Dabo Swinney has faced his own set of criticisms from the Tigers' fan base and even the administration after he started his press conference with worrying about being fired.

The Seminoles have a 4-4 record on the season, in what the Florida State faithful didn't expect after having the season-opening victory over Alabama. However, the program cannot go back and change it, they have to make the most of the situation.

The high school recruiting has to change for the better. The good news is that Florida State already grabbed three-star defensive end Chris Carbin and three-star safety/linebacker Daylen Green in the recent days.

Then, three-star offensive tackle target Aaron Thomas has now de-committed from Ohio State, which could bode well for the Seminoles. However, I want to discuss another recruitment that could be in Florida State's favor.

Class of 2026 three-star running back target Qwantavius Wiggins (FIU commit) from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, officially visited Florida State this past weekend for the Homecoming matchup versus Wake Forest.

Wiggins is planning on taking an official visit to Wisconsin this upcoming weekend, but the Seminoles are trying their best to acquire his services, since Florida State does not have a running back prospect committed to its class after four-star Amari Thomas flipped to South Carolina.

On3's Steve Wiltfong feels that Florida State has an inside track to getting Wiggins. It is easy to fall in love with the Seminoles since the program runs the football very efficiently with offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn in control. Florida State ranks 8th in the FBS in rushing yards per game (241.2), which should attract top-tier talent.
