OFFENSE: OL JACOB RIZY

Redshirt senior offensive lineman Jacob Rizy has been a player that has started to emerge over the last week or so with being someone that assistant coach Herb Hand can trust in the trenches. Rizy is coming back from injury, so it makes sense why the staff is mentioning him now.

Rizy was coached last year by assistant coach Alex Atkins, who is now coaching at LSU. The former Harvard transfer started three games for the Seminoles last season, but he didn't get the opportunity until late in the year.

The veteran started 20 games in his career at Harvard, but the standards and expectations are higher at Florida State. With that said, I read into the lines at times, and I haven't heard Coach Hand mention much about guard Adrian Medley.

I liked the Medley pickup because he has familiarity with Coach Hand and Coach Malzahn, but I could see Rizy sliding into that starting guard spot, or at the very least, be the first offensive lineman off the bench since he has experience at tackle, guard, and center.
