OT CHASTAN BROWN

Florida State got a February Signing Day addition with former four-star offensive tackle Chastan Brown from Warner Robins, Georgia. Offensive line coach Herb Hand loaded up on the offensive linemen as he wants to make the trenches a priority.

I see why the coaching staff wanted to pick up Brown on the recruiting trail. He has a 6'7" frame that can mold into something special if he can garner any weight. He is onyl listed at 270 pounds, so the development and strength will have to come over time.

This isn't someone who I expect to be a meaningful contributor in Year 1 or maybe even in Year 2, but I see why the staff thought that they could develop him even they have offensive tackle pieces such as Gunnar Hansen, Micah Pettus, Lucas Simmons, and Jonathan Daniels that they can play to not put as much pressure on Brown in the mean time.

All in all, Coach Hand could have a special find in Brown if patience is shown.
