Florida State baseball is starting to become a powerhouse in the sport under the leadership of head coach Link Jarrett. The Seminoles have always been so close to obtaining that coveted first national championship.
It has been so frustrating to see schools like Coastal Carolina make it only a few times to the College World Series and be successful in winning national championships. However, something has to go in the Seminoles' way with the bad luck.
Coach Jarrett has this team rolling in the right direction, and it is only a matter of time before it happens. Florida State has had some incredible players come through the program. It would be nice for the Seminoles to win it all for those former contributors who put their blood, sweat, and tears into this team.
Former Florida State infielder Alex Lodise is looking to make a name for himself
Speaking of former players, infielder Alex Lodise is someone who deserves to hoist a championship trophy during his time in Tallahassee. However, the 2025 season ended with a Super Regional series loss to Oregon State.
Lodise was selected with the 60th overall pick by the Atlanta Braves. He finished with a .394 batting average with 17 home runs and 68 runs batted in. The infielder was a fan favorite, where he selected as First-Team All-ACC. His best quality as a player was his defensive ability. Lodise was also ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

The former Seminole spent time in 2025 with the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves (Rome Emperors) and is finding his footing as a professional player with a .252 batting average with one home run and nine runs batted in 25 games played (according to milb.com).
Lodise hopes to make a splash with the Atlanta Braves. The franchise is looking to go in the right direction after not making the MLB Playoffs in 2025. The Braves are trying to find the answer at shortstop, and Lodise could be the solution to their issues.
