OFFENSIVE LINE IMPROVEMENT

Let me start by saying that the Florida State offensive line cannot get much worse in 2025. That was how horrible it was last season. The Seminoles' fan base was extremely excited because it brought back a veteran offensive line that had a history of playing together in Tallahassee.

Coach Norvell even mentioned that Darius Washington was an All-American candidate. Even with the freak injury that happened in pre-game warmups for Washington, I could not explain to you what happened. Add it to the mystery that was 2024 for the Seminoles.

Florida State elected to move on from former offensive line coach Alex Atkins, who is now with the LSU Tigers. I liked Coach Atkins, but I wondered if he would ever develop any of the high school recruits that he acquired instead of going to the transfer portal for everything.

Nonetheless, the Seminoles hired former UCF offensive line coach Herb Hand, who has had plenty of Power Four experience with schools such as Auburn, Texas, Penn State, and Vanderbilt. With the limitations of the roster, Coach Hand had to pick up several transfers, while the recruits he signed are developing.

He picked up transfers who have plenty of collegiate experience. Even though we heard that last year, I hope that Florida State has at least an average offensive line to protect quarterback Thomas Castellanos and give the running game a shot to be successful.
