LACK OF PROVEN WR WEAPONS

This is not a direct shot at Florida State's offense, but the experiment of adding Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown was a huge whiff last offseason. I hope that the coaching staff learned from its mistakes.

The Seminoles had a few departures this offseason, such as Hykeem Williams, Jordan Scott, and Jalen Brown. This throws a wrench into what Florida State wants to accomplish this season. I hope that Castellanos can at least keep opposing defenses honest.

The coaching staff went to the transfer portal and grabbed USC's Duce Robinson, Tennessee's Squirrel White, and North Carolina's Gavin Blackwell. I am a huge fan of true freshman Jayvan Boggs as well, but just like Ousmane Kromah, he is a youngster who is learning the ropes.

Robinson had 747 receiving yards in two seasons with the Trojans. White had 803 yards in 2023, but he has battled injuries his entire career. And then Blackwell had 448 yards in four seasons with the Tar Heels. This is nothing to brag about, which is why I think that Florida State has to stick with its strength of running the football.
