ADDITION OF TRANSFER RB GAVIN SAWCHUK

Florida State was originally heading into the 2025 offseason with pieces such as Kameron Davis, Caziah Holmes, Roydell Williams, Jaylin Lucas, Samuel Singleton Jr, and signee Ousmane Kromah in its rotation.

This was the same group from last year (minus veteran Lawrance Toafili) that saw the rushing numbers plummet when the team struggled to run the football in 2024. I loved the potential of Kromah in the offense to be an RB1, but that was a ton of pressure to put on a true freshman who was enrolling in the summer.

With that said, I love the acquisition that the Seminoles made when adding former Oklahoma running back transfer Gavin Sawchuk. This allows Kromah to get up to speed throughout the summer and fall camp, and gives Coach Malzahn a veteran like he had with RJ Harvey to work with.

Sawchuk recorded 744 yards and nine touchdowns in 2023, but he battled injuries last year. The talented back had over 100 rushing yards in the 2022 Cheez-It Bowl versus Florida State, so Coach Norvell is very familiar with his skill set.
