BONUS: CB JERRY WILSON

Since Florida State won the game, I thought it would be appropriate to include a bonus selection of another player that performed well against Virginia Tech. Wins haven't been happening at a premium lately, so the celebration has to go on.

Cornerback Jerry Wilson is someone that had his moments against the Hokies on Saturday. Everyone remembers the great interception that he had on quarterback Kyron Drones in the first quarter (the rushed throw was because of the pressure by defensive tackle Darrell Jackson Jr.).

However, one play that doesn't get talked about enough was the 3rd down and 2 play on the second offensive drive by Virginia Tech, where quarterback Kyron Drones throws it in the flat to running back Michael Hawkins. Jerry Wilson comes flying in for the tackle, which it resulted in a five-yard loss.

This resulted in Virginia Tech's 54-yard field goal attempt being about two yards too short and the score to remain at 0 late in the first quarter. It might not seem like a lot, but those were two massive plays by the defender that deserve to be talked about.
