DT MANDRELL DESIR
The 2025 recruiting class has been impressive for the Florida State Seminoles this year. Many of them are quality pieces in the rotation. Originally, the fan base didn't think much of them because the recruiting class had to be put together quickly since they hired a couple of new coaches.
One of the highlights in the class was defensive tackle Mandrell Desir. The Miami, Florida, native had been rated as a three-star prospect that was originally committed to UCF while Gus Malzahn was the head football coach with the Knights.
However, he and his twin brother (Darryll) de-committed from the UCF program and flipped to Florida State. Fans didn't know how to feel about it since they weren't highly rated. Defensive coordinator Tony White raved about the Desir Twins this offseason and fans brushed it off since they were just true freshmen on the defensive line.
Mandrell Desir had the only sack of the night on quarterback Kyron Drones in the third quarter when Florida State was leading by a score of 17-7, which resulted in the Seminoles scoring a touchdown after the turnover and making it 24-7.
