QB THOMAS CASTELLANOS
This isn't a direct shot at saying that quarterback Thomas Castellanos has not played well, but we all know how important it is to have a capable signal-caller leading the offense. It is fine to have an elite defense, but if you don't have an offense that can put points on the scoreboard, it could be trouble.
Castellanos is magical when he utilizes his legs. The former UCF and Boston College transfer had 1,100 rushing yards during the 2023 season with the Eagles under former coach Jeff Hafley (who is now the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers).
However, Castellanos was guided by Bill O'Brien in 2024, where he didn't seem to gel in his scheme and was awkward to match his playing style. Florida State fans were worried because he had been benched later in the year, but Castellanos made sure that Alabama knew that he meant business.
His statistics don't wow people, as he has recorded 848 passing yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions, plus Castellanos has added 217 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. To be a difference maker and lead the Seminoles to the College Football Playoff, he will need more production.
