DB EARL LITTLE JR.

Florida State's defense wants to be aggressive and physical at the point of attack. Defensive coordinator Tony White doesn't want the defense to overthink what is being asked of them and demands that they play the game of football.

Defensive coordinator Tony White made a lofty claim when he claimed that redshirt junior defensive back Earl Little Jr. was "Him". You knew that Little Jr. would be a special piece in the defense after the coaching staff tried to advertise him during the ACC Kickoff event.

I was very high on the former Alabama transfer last offseason, but he did not perform up to expectations. However, Little Jr. feels more comfortable in Coach White's multiple 3-3-5 defense with him being aggressive and being at the Rover position.

He will be featured in the season opener against Alabama, which is his former team. It is important that he does not try to do too much and not try to play "hero ball". The staff is excited about Little Jr., and rightfully so. This could be the difference between the defense being average or above average in 2025.
