Florida State football had a difficult season in 2024 with a 2-10 record, but you couldn't fault the defensive backs for the poor showing. They handled the adversity with the play of Azareye'h Thomas, Fentrell Cypress II, and Kevin Knowles II.

The Seminoles have excellent guidance from assistant coaches Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper. The program added former Houston transfer cornerback Jeremiah Wilson, who has experience with playing on Tony White's defense at Syracuse.

It will be a huge void to fill with Azareye'h Thomas, who is now with the New York Jets. Thomas handled his business and ensured that the pass catcher he was guarding didn't have a field day against him.

The Seminoles added Wilson because he was a veteran who could help a young, inexperienced position group gel together. With that said, Tony White has someone whom he is confident in the cornerback room with redshirt sophomore Ja'Bril Rawls.

He refers to Rawls as an "NFL prospect". While I know it is a projection, that is high praise for someone who hasn't done much in the Garnet and Gold.
