WR SQUIRREL WHITE

Florida State landed a couple of wide receiver transfers this offseason. This is hopefully going to transform the Seminoles' offense into something serviceable. However, we all saw how last year went with Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown.

The coaching staff understood that they needed help in that department. I like that the offense is being catered to fit quarterback Thomas Castellanos (take notes, Bill O'Brien). However, Castellanos is not known for his pocket presence.

With that said, Coach Malzahn will have to want to establish the run early and often and get the football out of his hands, then occasionally take a deep shot to keep the opposing defenses honest.

This could be a perfect role for former Tennessee wide receiver Squirrel White to have. Unfortunately, he has battled injuries throughout his college career. White had a productive campaign in 2023, where he recorded 803 yards and two touchdowns. The most noteworthy statistic came when he played the Crimson Tide and had ten receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown.

I hope that the playmaker can have that type of impact against Alabama on Saturday.
