Limit NC State offense to FG's

This stat surprised me, because NC State only averages 29.9 ppg. However, they are lethal once they get into the red zone. They have scored touchdowns 78 percent of the time once they enter the red zone. They’ve scored 25 touchdowns on 32 attempts and kicked five field goals.

Once they get into the red zone, they’ll usually get points, but the key will be to limit them to field goals instead of touchdowns. They have only attempted eight field goals all season between two kickers.

The good news is they are not a big-time possession team. They rank No. 76 nationally in that department. If they score, it’s usually not a long 15-play type drive that eats up a ton of clock.

They average 6.39 yards per play, which ranks No. 28 nationally. FSU hasn’t been awful in the red zone. They’ve allowed touchdowns 60 percent of the time and forced teams to kick seven field goals in 28 red zone possessions.

If they can manage to hold NC State to say two touchdowns and three field goals, that should be a good enough effort if the FSU offense decides to show up on the road.
