NC State leans towards the pass slightly overall, and CJ Bailey completes about 69.4 percent of his passes. His yards per attempt are solid at 8 ypa, and he’s thrown 19 touchdowns against nine interceptions.
In the games NC State has lost this year, Bailey has either struggled to complete passes or become a turnover machine. Eight of his nine interceptions have come in the losses when he’s under pressure.

NC State has losses to Virginia Tech and Duke, two defenses that are much worse than the FSU defense on paper and according to advanced metrics. He had three interceptions against Duke and was sacked twice.
He had a good game statistically against Virginia Tech, but they sacked him five times and held him to -19 rushing yards.
FSU can’t allow him to stand in the pocket with time to throw. He’s 6’6” and can make all of the throws. They must generate a pass rush and get him to move off his spots. They can find success if they’re able to do that.
