Contain Run Game

NC State boasts a strong rushing attack, featuring two running backs who run with physicality. Both backs average over five yards per carry, and quarterback CJ Bailey can make things happen in the running game when he wants. He averages 6-7 carries per game and has five rushing touchdowns.

The Wolfpack averages 4.76 yards per rush overall and has only allowed 51 tackles (15 of those were sacks) for a loss this season. They usually like to run it on first down, as that’s when 57.6 percent of their rushing attempts take place.

FSU has been solid against the traditional run game most of the year, but struggled when adding a running quarterback in the mix like last week against Virginia Tech.

The Noles will need to limit NC State’s rushing success on the early downs to have a realistic chance to get them off the field. They’ll need to be wary of CJ Bailey using his legs to extend plays in key downs.
