Can FSU execute on the explosive plays when Pitts blitzes?
Pitts’ aggressiveness is a gift and a curse, and should create opportunities for explosive plays for the Noles. The question is, can FSU convert when they have them?
FSU quarterback Tommy Castellanos hadn’t had good games against Pat Narduzzi historically, but this will be the most talented team he’s had to play with. Can Castellanos hit the deep pass when Pitt brings pressure?
Will he make them pay for bringing a corner blitz by hitting the open guy that vacates that spot? Narduzzi is willing to gamble that most teams can’t handle their aggressiveness and is willing to accept it if an offense catches them in a vulnerable spot and makes them pay.
The plays were there for the FSU offense to execute in both of the last two games. They either failed to execute or made bad decisions. It’s an area they must clean up big time if they expect to beat good teams.
The good news is, there aren’t many good teams left on the schedule. This should be a good barometer for what to expect moving forward.
