Can the FSU defense confuse Pitts's inexperienced quarterback?

The FSU offense having success against the Pittsburgh offense will determine if they win or not, but FSU’s effectiveness against their inexperienced quarterback will determine if FSU covers the spread or not.

This matchup seems tailor-made for Tony White’s defense. Pittsburgh tends to be more pass-heavy because its rushing attack isn’t anything special. FSU should have success with a light box and putting several guys in coverage.

The key will be if the FSU pass rush can cause enough havoc to force the inexperienced quarterback into making bad decisions, or see things that aren’t there.

This could be a big game for Amaree Williams or a couple of linebackers to blitz and get pressure. If FSU allows a guy with one career start to beat them with his arm, they all deserve to be fired.

It’s likely they’ll force him into some bad throws that are intercepted or defended well, forcing Pitt to punt quite a bit.
