DB EDWIN JOSEPH JR.

Florida State's defense has not been one of the worst in the country, but the unit has not been able to get off the field on third down as they allow way too many explosive plays.

Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller has been relieved of his duties. The defensive scheme should look completely different in 2025. This unit relied on man-to-man coverage, and they rarely changed their looks to confuse opposing offenses.

Just like the offense, it is difficult at times to point at the positives because this season has been a failure. However, I would be remiss if I didn't mention defensive back Edwin Joseph Jr.

In the season opener versus Georgia Tech, he was seen lowering the boom on the Yellow Jackets in special teams. He was later elevated to an extensive cornerback role, where he shined and has made Florida State's coaching staff think about him as a sizable contributor in 2025.

The former four-star prospect set the tone for the program even in moments of adversity when he said: "If you don't want to be here, go home!" Joseph Jr. is showing that he wants to be here with the Seminoles.
