THOMAS CASTELLANOS GETS ALL-TIME RUSHING YARDS FOR QB

Florida State brought in former UCF and Boston College quarterback transfer Thomas Castellanos, who is already a dual-threat option. Then they decide to hire innovative offensive mind Gus Malzahn to be its offensive coordinator.

One thing is for certain: When the Seminoles chose Malzahn to be its primary play-caller it was that they wanted to run the football. Malzahn's calling card throughout his career is his ability to scheme up the rushing attack.

This is something that Seminole fans heard last season, too. Florida State's previous coaching staff stated that the strength of the squad was going to be when they ran effectively. Castellanos has a chance to be a big factor in a successful ground game.

The Georgia native had 1,113 rushing yards during the 2023 season with the Eagles. While he had 194 rushing yards last year, it looks like first-year head football coach Bill O'Brien did not utilize him to his full potential.

Former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis holds the rushing yards in a season record for a quarterback where he had 550 rushing yards in 2020. I expect Castellanos to exceed that number and prove the doubters wrong about his fit in Tallahassee.
