LB MARQUES WATSON-TRENT

Florida State had veterans DJ Lundy and Cam Riley, but neither of them did much to make a notable difference in impacting contests. There were flashes from some younger options such as Blake Nichelson, Omar Graham Jr., and Justin Cryer.

But are you relying on those guys to make a sizeable leap when head football coach Mike Norvell and his staff need to win now? That is a tough question to ask.

The Seminoles only acquire one linebacker prospect in the 2025 cycle (four-star Ethan Pritchard) and one transfer in Stefon Thompson (Nebraska). This isn't a lot of production for new-titled linebackers coach John Papuchis to work with.

One name that I am keeping an eye on is Georgia Southern senior linebacker transfer Marques Watson-Trent, who recently entered the transfer portal. He has combined to have 356 total tackles in the past three seasons. The Seminoles desperately need someone who is a tackling machine and isn't afraid to come up in run support. Watson-Trent has the potential to be a household name.
