FIND A BUZZ AND EXCITEMENT WITH FSU BASKETBALL
This is not expecting new head basketball coach Luke Loucks to get this Seminoles' basketball to win an ACC championship in the 2025-2026 season. However, there has to be a sense of investment and excitement within the program.
The ACC isn't the premier brand of college basketball like it once was anymore, as the SEC has generated a ton of resources to make its league dynamic. With that said, programs such as North Carolina and Duke will always be the talk of the conference. Florida State looks to be on the outside looking in.
The good news is that Loucks played at Florida State, and his wife was an athlete here with the Seminoles. That has to mean something to the fan base to relate to someone who loves Florida State just as much as they do.
That can generate excitement early on. It is great to start fast, but individuals have to realize that they started with a 7-1 record and then finished with an overall record of 17-14. Even looking back at the impressive stretch from 2016-2020, the fan base had a joy coming to the Tucker Center.
Loucks has to find the excitement again with the program. Let's face it: he is a person in his 30s who doesn't have any collegiate coaching experience.
