3 suggestions to improve Florida State's offense for the remainder of 2024
GET RB MICAHI DANZY INVOLVED MORE
The rushing attack for the Seminoles has been one of the worst in college football this season. Florida State is averaging 58 rushing yards per game. The Seminoles had the luxury of having the services of running back Trey Benson last season, who was selected in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
Plus, it helped to have the legs of former quarterback Jordan Travis. The coaching staff thought that they had a plan in place in the offseason as they added Alabama's Roydell Williams and Indiana's Jaylin Lucas, who are both dealing with injuries.
The Seminoles have trotted out veteran Lawrance Toafili and freshman Kameron Davis (and some of Samuel Singleton Jr.) in the running back rotation. Disclaimer: It has not worked well as the Florida State offensive line has struggled to effectively run block.
They need to get some game-changers at the position. One player that I am excited for is true freshman Micahi Danzy. The Tallahassee native is a track star with electric speed in the open field, but he enrolled in the summer and is still getting acclimated to the collegiate game.
Danzy played four snaps versus Clemson and had a crucial drop on an underthrown football. However, the speed was on display. With missing speedster Jaylin Lucas for the remainder of the season, it could be wise to let Danzy go through the growing pains of the offense.
