DT DARRELL JACKSON JR.

One of the biggest updates of the offseason was that defensive tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. decided to forego the NFL Draft and return to Tallahassee. The Seminoles added Nebraska's Tony White to be its new defensive coordinator. He is known for running multiple schemes, including a 3-3-5.

Overall, a 3-3-5 defensive scheme could be a perfect balance for Jackson Jr's skill set. With defensive tackle Joshua Farmer not returning to Florida State in 2025, he is the star of the show at defensive tackle.

Jackson Jr. is a physical specimen that NFL teams salivate over (Don't get too excited, John Gruden...). He is listed at 6'5" and 330 pounds, and he was showing flashes at practices.

However, just like the entire team in 2024, Jackson Jr. failed to live up to expectations. He had 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year. There are times when the former Maryland and Miami transfer plays too high in his stance.

If Jackson Jr. had played during the 2023 season (the NCAA declined his eligibility waiver), he would have probably left after 2024. NFL scouts will probably be excited to see him on their rosters.
