CB CHAUNCEY KENNNON

The five-star cornerback prospect Chauncey Kennon is the best-rated recruit in the Seminoles' recruiting class. This is someone that defensive back coaches Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper that they could build around.

Understandably, Florida State is struggling on the field this year with four straight losses, but defensive back is not a position that seems to be the main issue. However, its not a strong suit either from time to time. There is always room to grow.

The Seminoles have talented young pieces in their secondary, such as Charles Lester III, Cai Bates, Shamar Arnoux, Jamari Howard, Max Redmon, Zae Thomas, Ricky Knight III, Jarvis Boatwright Jr., Antonio Cromartie Jr. on the current roster.

Kennon has been committed since July 2025, and even has a Florida State tattoo on his body. I realize that he can always get the tattoo removed, but it is painful and complex. If the Seminoles want to be competitive on a national level, they need to secure five-stars.
