DB SHYHEIM BROWN WON'T BE A STARTER
2024 was a disaster for the Florida State football team as the program stumbled to a 2-10 campaign. This is something that the fan base wants to block out. I don't know how much you put stock into the year, but this should be something to learn from.
One player that was discouraging to watch was redshirt junior defensive back Shyheim Brown. There were times when Brown did not show aggression or physicality. He looked "lazy" to some individuals who watched the film from last year.
Brown entered the 2024 offseason after missing out on the College Football Playoff opportunity with hopes of making it a "money year". However, that went out the window quickly. The veteran had 70 tackles last year, but it was not something that the fan base wanted to see.
The Seminoles then hired new defensive coordinator Tony White, who wants to implement a 3-3-5 multiple defensive scheme. Coach White has a couple of players that has been raved about in the secondary, such as Earl Little Jr., Jeremiah Wilson, KJ Kirkland, and Ja'Bril Rawls.
You know who hasn't been mentioned? That is right, Shyheim Brown. I don't think that it is a coincidence, as Coach White uses three safeties in the defense. I project it to be Earl Little Jr., Edwin Joseph, and KJ Kirkland, where it leaves Shyheim Brown on the outside looking in.
