OL JACOB RIZY WILL GET A STARTING ROLE

Florida State's offensive line was horrific in 2024 as the fan base started to come to that realization after the Georgia Tech season opener in Dublin, Ireland. Some individuals thought that it would be a great season after the 28-yard touchdown run by running back Lawrance Toafili.

Then, opposing defenses brought the pressure to the Seminoles' offense, where quarterbacks DJ Uiagalelei, Brock Glenn, and Luke Kromenhoek were running for their lives. I realize that new transfer signal-caller Thomas Castellanos has dual-threat ability, but the Alabama defense will be a top-ten unit in all of college football.

The Seminoles had to make changes to their coaching staff by adding former UCF assistant coach Herb Hand to be its offensive line coach. Coach Hand has familiarity with working with Coach Malzahn and how his offense operates. I don't want to throw a shot at the previous coaching regime at offensive line, but the program should be better there.

One of the bigger surprises is that Coach Hand and Norvell have mentioned redshirt senior offensive lineman Jacob Rizy. The former Harvard transfer had been injured, but it looks like he is healthy and could take one of the starting guard spots (potentially for Adrian Medley).
