DE JAMES WILLIAMS

The Seminole faithful have to be thankful that former legendary Alabama head football coach Nick Saban didn't make any bold claims about Florida State's defensive line this offseason.

The Seminoles have new pieces across the defensive line, where they don't have players such as Marvin Jones Jr., Patrick Payton, or Joshua Farmer anymore. Defensive line coach Terrance Knighton was brought to Tallahassee with defensive coordinator Tony White.

It has been a productive coaching acquisition, as the Seminoles have 6 sacks and 19 tackles for loss through two games on the year. However, one piece that was impacted with Coach Knighton (James Williams) has not been very productive statistically versus Alabama and East Texas A&M.

Williams has only recorded one tackle, but his pressure rate has been impressive. According to a statistic from CFBNumbers on Twitter (X), Williams has a 22.2% pressure rate this season.

There is an expectation that the former Nebraska transfer will start to catch his stride shortly. That opportunity could be happening against Kent State.
