DESIR TWINS

Florida State grabbed the dynamic duo of the Desir Twins (Mandrell and Darryll Desir) in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Luckily, Gus Malzahn left UCF and came to Tallahassee to be the offensive coordinator. This ultimately pushed the flip and commitment on Signing Day for the defensive linemen.

This is a situation where the fans discredited the pair since they were three-star prospects. As we see time and time again, players can outperform a star ranking. They don't mean everything. This isn't to say go get a bunch of three-star prospects if five and four stars are available to grab.

This might have been cheating to pair the Desir Twins together in the article, but the brothers get joined in conversation since they are so close to one another. Mandrell Desir has been the standout for the Seminoles at the defensive tackle position.

He has recorded five sacks during the 2025 season, which is something that I never would have envisioned. This goes to show you what proper evaluation and development looks like. This is something that has been missing in Tallahassee, as they have often resorted to the transfer portal. The Desir Twins need to stay at Florida State.
