WR DUCE ROBINSON
Florida State football had a game plan in mind when it played the Alabama Crimson Tide. It wanted to establish the running game early and often, and create motion that would force the Crimson Tide defense to think quickly.
As a result, quarterback Thomas Castellanos only attempted 14 passes. It was safe to say that offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn knew that Alabama couldn't stop the Seminoles' physical running game, and didn't even have to take that many deep shots.
I was surprised that wide receiver Duce Robinson wasn't involved more in the offense. He recorded 750 yards and seven touchdowns during his two seasons at USC. He was thought to be their number one receiver, since his 6'6" frame could create mismatches on the outside.
Given Malzahn's offense, I should have known that the wide receivers would not get as many chances. Robinson was able to haul in two receptions for 18 yards. Granted, he did drop a first-down throw by Castellanos that was placed where only he could've caught it, but I expect the former USC transfer to get more and more reps in the offense.
