DB EARL LITTLE JR.

Defensive back Earl Little Jr. has been the best defender on the Seminoles' defense in 2025. It starts and stops with him. He has to set the tone for Florida State.

Little Jr. was picked up from Alabama two offseasons ago, but he didn't make much of an impact in 2024, and the coaching staff moved him from cornerback to safety midway through the year. Some didn't know what to expect from him.

During this past offseason, he was inserted into Tony White's defense at the starting ROVER position, where he is utilized all over the field. Little Jr. stated that he loves aggression and physicality and wanted to add it to his play style in this defense.

The defensive back was the leading tackler for the Seminoles on Friday night with 14 tackles, but it seemed like he played out of control with a ton of emotion instead of just trusting his natural ability and instincts. Coach Norvell had to let him know that he has to tame his aggression on the sideline. This is a big opportunity for Little Jr. to respond as the Hurricanes come to town next week.
